A Gut-friendly Cocktail You’ll Want to Sip All Summer Long
By Nancy Chen of Approaching Paleo
Summertime calls for icy cold drinks, sipped while lounging on sunny patios or open rooftops.
It’s arguably one of the best parts of warm weather.
Unfortunately, many cocktails contain sugar-laden syrups and artificial flavorings that not only give you a headache or the dreaded hangover, but also set you back on your health goals.
This cocktail is refreshing, easy to make into a single serving or doubled to serve a crowd, and contains probiotic rich-kombucha to give it an extra health kick.
It’s a drink you’ll want to be sipping all summer!
Watermelon Tequila Bubbler
Time: 3 minutes
Makes 4 servings
4 shots tequila blanco
1 bottle lemon kombucha (I like Health-ade Ginger Lemon or GT’S Lemonade)
4 springs fresh mint
8 oz watermelon juice (no sugar added; I like WTRMLN or DrinkMelon)
8 oz lemon or plain seltzer
Ice cubes, for serving
- Combine tequila, kombucha, seltzer, and watermelon juice in a pitcher. Stir well.
- In separate chilled glasses, add 2-3 large ice cubes and pour in the cocktail.
- Garnish with fresh mint, serve immediately, and enjoy!
